Cambridge Uni rejected "respect" in its guidelines, instead voted for "tolerance". Language matters.

I was pleased to see that. “Respect” is a slippery slope which leads to “you have to agree with everything we say or you are not respecting us.” Au contraire, when I respect you, I disagree with you. You have an opinion worthy of disagreement which has made me think.
