Law is a practical profession needed for wider society to function. It deals in reality, not dreams. If law schools disappear up their own arse we’ll finish up going back to Bar Exams and the Inns of Court system. And that will kill all the theory dead, actually, as a basic side effect.

Re-reading this excellent comment through the link in your latest post, and it is precisely right. This is, I think, one of the reasons that Universities should be seen as important public entities properly funded by government- to provide serious foundational training in subject that don't seem "current" or 'sexy" but actually provide the basis for a just community.
