Happy Year of the Dragon

It’s been a year since I set up this Substack. Thank you to all of you who have supported me from the beginning, and thank you to all of you who have joined me on the journey. I note it’s the Lunar New Year of the Dragon, a new beginning for us all. May we all have health, happiness, prosperity and peace.

Below is an etching I did in 2005. If I won the lottery, I would hire someone to help me with administrative stuff at university, and leave more time for art and creativity. I’d still teach and write academic articles, because I love that part of my job.

This is to remind me to dip back into that creative side in 2024, and concentrate on what I enjoy in academia: teaching and research.
